Film feedback

We decided to go into a year 11 form room, during form time and show them our film opening so that they could give us some feedback. We chose year 11's as they were closest to our age group that we were targeting our film at. We basically had about 20 students sitting in the room watching our film.

Choosing our location

To find out the best location to set our film, we all went on a walk in the woods too look at possible places. We found some places that we didnt think were suitable especially when we went into a field with mud and got stuck! And other places weere really good too. As you can see above kelsey commented on each photo and stated why some places were good/not good. We really wanted our setting to relate to the film, so the mise en scene would link in with the genre of horror.

 

 

Narrative of our film

A 9 year old boy is belived to have gone missing one day after he ran off into the woods after his dog.

After many years of searching for the missing child the police close the case as and declare him dead, the family never gave up hope. However after getting into finanical difficulty the family are forced to move house much to their regret. A new family have now bought the property. Sam and her family move in and Sam soon discovers that not all of the last family left. At first Stephen terrorises her but as the film goes on Sam finds out more and more about Stephen and sets out to help him.

 

First idea of how the film will open is that the film will begin in a short dream with a quick sucession of shots building tension and confusion with a blury vision.

The dream will end on the image of the boy and cut to a girl waking up from the dream, where the girl will then get up look for her mother to realise she is out. As she starts to hear noises she will go up to the loft to investigate where our opening ends with a shot of the missing boy.
